My benchrest

Post by kickinback »

Been toying with this for the last year and a bit. Since I got my mill things have moved a bit quicker. Had to move away from the joystick theory due to the amount of time it chews up in the workshop.

This is where I'm at.

As discussed, looking very good mate.
Will be a good option to replace the Farley or Seb rest with.

Cheers Mick. The next one will have all the kinks ironed out.
If I was smart, I would have drawn it up in cad 3d and not had to design on the run and waste a lot of ally.

Out of curiosity, what does it weigh as is, plus estimated weight with the top rest attached?

Thanks Ryan.

Mick, it's a 25mm steel base but I'm not sure what it weighs. I'll put it on the scales tomorrow night. When I got the base flame cut, I had to order 3 to make minimum sale. Looks like I'll have to make a few.

Fine elevation on the left and fine windage adjustment on the right knurled knob.

All via ball bearing or machined in.
