OK, got asked a question today and don't know the answer.

With the CZ527;
* distance between action screws?
* distance from rear action screw to front of trigger?
* distance from rear action screw to back of magazine?
* length of magazine well?

Someone is doing an inlet. Unfortunately I cannot help Adam.

Not an inlet...but exercising a wild idea.

Front of trigger shoe or entire trigger unit ? Will an aftermarket trigger do ?

Adam's relaying my question. I have a LH Zastava M85 action I bought a couple of weeks ago to build a little light mag fed 20 practical or 6x45. I'm wondering now about adapting a 527 trigger guard and mag but unsure of the dimensions.

The original plan was 10 round Pmags but they won't fit into the action without a lot of modifications to both the mag and action. I can probably get it to work with shortened/slimmed down AI 223 mags but it's a lot of work.

Either would be fine. As Greg has explained, we are just trying to understand the dimensional differences.

This will get you close.
Progressive measurements from centre rear screw
CZ 527 - 223
CZ 527 - 223
Hope it is accurate enough. My automatic visual ruler only measures to nearest mm where as GregT seems to work in .00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001mm :D

Cheers Bruce, that's well and truly close enough for what I need to check, thanks a lot!

I actuallly spend some time this arvo and milled down the top of an AICS 10 round plastic mag. It is surprisingly close to fitting with not a lot of work. I was going to make a trigger guard to suit but it might end up in a very minimalist chassis stock given it's probably less work than making a trigger guard.

This is a bit of a mutt of a rifle I'm putting together. I went to a competition the other week and did really well from 800m thru 600m with the 6.5 SAUM but it was a bit heavy and awkward for the last 30 rounds from 75m thru 25m offhand. One string was 5x 6 second exposures with 2 shots each exposure, it was a bit of a hassle without a 10 round mag. I figured a 223 based 10 round mag fed very light rifle was the go so this will be a little carbine style rifle for that sort of stuff as well as bunnys etc.
