Finished- it ain't finished until it has a nail driven into it.

Well actually it was being made with a grinder and all- it does look a bit like that fence post stock that's buried away in the old archives.

Tex.

Looking at his grinder, he's waiting for new discs at Bunnings. :)

I am actually. They only had 1 of the 40 grit discs left the wankers. No the mrs spat out bub number 2 today. Staying at home making stocks wasnt worth the risk. Will get onto it more this week hopefully.

Thank fellas. Yes its laminate- I wont risk solid timber on a competition gun for fear of it warping and mucking about with bedding/tune.

Righto two months later....

Went to Wardys place the other day and spent some time milling surfaces flat and level. Today i got back onto it with the grinder to rough out shapes from the butt and moving forward. Need to get back to his and mill a bit more on it. The hardest bit is trying to get the grip section sorted out in straight lines. A CNC lathe with a cord plugged into my head would be alot quicker. When the action arrives from USA I can do the action area a bit quicker.
