I am still hunting round for a 7mm barrel for my 280ai build and need to get something ordered or it will be 2016 before I get to fire a shot I like the idea and cost of pacnor savage prefit barrels and just ordering if anyone has ordered barrels through them that required an export permit.
From what I understand you can put as many barrels on a us export permit as the cost is the same if it is 1 or 100 and once approved the permits are valid for 2 years. I know over the next 12 months I will buy a 7mm and 20 barrels and figured I would throw a few extras on there just in case I change my mind on cal etc.

On this end I know I have to apply for a B709 but is there a limit at this end that anyone has found or had to justify?

Also if I stay under $1000 on each order other than the initial export permit, the cost of the barrels and postage is there any other fee's I am likely to be hit with?

Talk to Seddo.

You will also need to register with Defence Export Controls Office in Canberra.

It will also help if you have a dealer licence and live near the Customs import facility so you can go pick them up when they arrive.

My export has expired.

Action clear are good to deal with, I grabbed a Pacnor off them a few years ago. There is also a ace in brisvagas who imports them.

For the price Seddo sells lilja barrels there would need to be a big saving on your import

I bought my last Pacnor from Phoenix Trading in QLD. Good to deal with, and for a single barrel, better pricing than you will get out of the US if you're paying your own export fees!

Damn shame the other group buy didn't get off the ground, as my previous two came from Seddo's last one.

I just find it easier to ring maddco and get a barrel done up. Had 3 maddcos and they all shoot like stink out to 1000yds. Had a lilja once but it was a varmint rifle- still good enough for varmints but it wasnt a match winning accuracy barrel. Few kriegers, its taken a few to get one that Im really happy with. Couple of trueflites- one WCMG still has on his 204 and its a good shooter, the other a target barrel that wasnt much chop for its intended use. Next varmint barrel will be a maddco and in July or so if theres one around I will get another maddco and possibly try a bartlein on the f class rifle.

With the savage prefit's there is - $450ish USD - all you need is appropriate headspace gauges and a savage nut spanner - that is if they can be brought into the country for a reasonable cost.
The pacnor contoured barrels that are available in the country from places like Phoenix are basically the same price as what the Lilja through Seddo cost which is still looking like a pretty good option.

A prefit will be cheaper, pacnor charge $125usd for the work and a local gunsmith will be charging around $300.

Head space gauges are easy to get sent over.

FLS the desired case and add shims until your desired headspace is achieved.

Ci cn dot but it won't be cheap, you need 10 barrel to get any sort of discount pit of them.
