Stock

Post by Camel »

I picked up a Richards Microfit walnut thumbhole stock for a Tikka T3 Varmint that belongs to my little mate Franky. Have started sanding yesterday and gave it a quick coat of oil just to see what the grain is like. Gotta say Im impressed, nice hard wood with plenty of figure to be drawn out over the next couple of months. I don't have the rifle available to check the inletting, etc, so don't want to go too far until I can check where it needs more sanding. The grain is a little open, but that will close up as I work the oil/wood dust slurry. So far am at the 400 grit stage.

Crackers, I think this one is on a par with your stock, or maybe just a tad behind.

Yeah I am pretty impressed and a little pissed off that it is for his rifle and not one of mine. I would have got Richards stocks for my Zastava builds if they would export, alas I cant do that so have to go with the Boyds instead.

Tell him that stock looks shithouse and the best thing you could do would be to post it to a moron in Melbourne so everyone can laugh at his silly rifle stock
