Time to sort out the 260. All tools made inhouse so everything fits perfectly.

What did beretta/tikka say? Lack of lubrication, your problem?

Didn't bother mate. I'll do it myself and then I know it's done right. Looking at the lugs and the action, a little tidy up should give things an even up in the contact area.

Is that four inches you have cut off the end of your barrel. I thought that was my barrel vice.

It is your barrel vise. It requires some testing tho. The bit of steel lying down is an action wrench and the bit standing up will be a muzzle brake by tomorrow night.

Ahhhhh, figured out what the bit laying down was, and the fact that you are making a muzzle break interests me greatly. Maaaaate

Yes and no. It was hot, had fired 20+ rounds consecutively, warm loads, one locking lug in real contact (both show contact marks). I'm glad my sons who were shooting it at the time said it felt wrong as soon as they did. Mechanical sympathy is rare in younguns these days.
I will post pics as I go.

I figured if I had the barrel out I may as well thread the end of it and fit a brake.

The ports will resemble the HSS setup but the body will be 22mm in diameter. Timing will be a thou at a time
. Basically a Grenfell brake with raked ports I guess is the best way to describe it.

I see,hey sounds like the way I done it,I wondered if there was some great calculation that I was unaware of to get it right,,,
In the end I went little by little and plenty of trail fits in between.
