Boyd's Thumbhole

Post by Gnome »

I'm wanting to put my Weaherby MarkV Accumark into a Boyd's thumbhole Stock for the on the Boyd's website it states ATTENTION CUSTOMERS: These stocks are not designed for the early Mark V actions. Seeing as I have the newer action I'm wondering if anyone has dropped one into the Boyds and if they had any real drama's.

I have searched images and can only see slight differences in the back of the action but am figuring its mainly the bolt housing as the Older bolts don't have the sleeker housing on them.

Surely they would be a pretty close fit, it wouldn't take much to do the inlet yourself, if its only small changes, I had to fit a large ring Mauser stock to a Zastava, a few differences but not much, any stuff ups you make can be filled with a little extra bedding compound. Give it a go.

Be interested on your thoughts on the Boyds Gnome, will have to check it out in person. I am thinking about matching laminated stocks for my model 2 and 527 brno probably pepper should look okay with blued actions and barrels.

Oh and umm good luck with the bedding job
