$300. I pull it down and put it back together. You just need to work out how to get it to me, what colour and gloss, satin or flat finish. This is Graphite Black in the satin finish (18:1 ratio).

I don't coat scopes, too much of a PITA and too much can go wrong with them. I just don't need the grief of screwing up a $2k Nightforce on a $200 job.

Levers, pumps and straight pulls cost more - again PITA factor.

How do you screw the barrel back in and torque it up without marking the finish?

I thought you would blast and coat the barreled action so you get a consistent finish and colour over the entire job?

The finish is very hard and abrasion resistant.

The torque required is fairly low compared to how a factory barrel is screwed in. When the barrel goes into the barrel vice a thin shim of paper around the barrel allows me to hold it securely and whilst it does mark the paint, the paper mark rubs off in no time at all with some 0000 steel wool.

There is no permanent trace left on the barrel at all.

Ideally I always remove the barrel if I can as it makes the job better in the long run. It is easier to Microslick the bolt abutments if the barrel isn't in there. Also makes it easier to blank off the barrel and ensure no Cerakote gets into the barrel (a nightmare scenario I am not keen to have).

Achieving the same colour grade is down to the product mix and the curing temperature. I've found that if I use the same mix for barrel and action, and then put them in the same oven they come out the same colour. I have had some shockers though, and won't use SOCOM Blue anymore for that reason. It is very difficult to get the tone exactly the same with that particular colour, even from one end of a barrel to the other.

you can but sometimes you have to put the barreled action in the oven 3 or 4 times until the oil or what ever they used
to lube the threads stops seeping out .

What colour choices are available ? Just out of interest.
Is it just black blue greys or can you go outlandish with reds and stuff.

Honest opinion, I don't go much on those type of coatings, much prefer nice shiny stainless or nice blue job, but if there is a market for those type of coatings, good onya Must have a pretty flash sort of oven.

Three pinks, some nice blues and several reds. Plus some silvers, golds, browns and greens.

The only rifles I do together are 22s and those I cannot pull apart.

There is heaps of oil found in the join between barrel and action, and on the bolt body, and inside the action. It will completely ruin all the good work if it isn't bled out beforehand.

Fantastic result. I think creak ore is the best shit since, well there's quite a few things I could list, Super glue being one of them.

Anyway great result.

I'd like to have my Model 70 cerakoted at later stage.
