Ok, so i am thinking of getting some engraving done on the floor plate of my Zastava, what are the chances of buggering up the blued finish completely if i have a go at it?

Would it need to be prepped in any way?

Think that if you did the job yourself you would be better off taking it apart and then stripping it back to bare metal, do the engraving and then re-blue. I imagine if you sent if to someone to do the job for you, that is how they would do it. What tools do you have for that type of job, bent horse shoe nail and a ballpeen hammer ??

Pretty much mate hahaha,

I am also thinking to inlay the engraved "bits" so that was another reason to not strip/polish/reblue.

I have sent off a couple of emails, to various engravers so will see what they have to say as well.

As it will be script, it "shouldn't" be tooooo hard to finish myself.

Cheers Missed, didnt know they came in kit form.

Have emailed HSS so we will see if they either still have one laying around, or can get them in.

IIRC the gold inlay kit was made by Forster, as in Forster reloading.
