Rainy day, youtube, silly ideas.
Has anyone had a go at hand cut checkering? I am keen to give it a go, looks time consuming but not too complicated.

I had a go years ago, still got the kit somewhere.
It's not difficult but is time consuming as 1 little slip and you could have stuffed it up big time.
I started with a very course lpi. You can get kits for various lpi's.
What were you intending to hand checker?
Starting from scratch or just repairing an old rifle?

I was thinking a few bits of x2 would be a good start

ultimately putting down some checks on my boyds stock. If I completely fark it up then I can just fill, sand and paint it. If at first you don't succeed, hide all the evidence and pretend you never tried.
Shooters.com.au have kits in various lpi with their 'beginner kit' was around the $60 mark.
