Replacement Ruger M77/17 hmr barrels available in Australia?

Post by Branxhunter »

Does anyone know whether replacement Ruger 17HMR barrels are available in Australia?

Searching around on the net finds Lilja, Shilen, Clark Custom and Green Mountain all produce drop in barrels for the M77/17' but I am not really up to speed with what is required to import from the US.

My rifle has a blued sporter weight barrel, and my preference would be to replace with a blued similar or slightly heavier profile, rather than a varmint or bull barrel profile.

Marcus, I have a factory ruger SS varmint barrel, it wont be used up here, maybe we can work something out. Let me know. I bought it to replace the factory thing barrel on my Ruger, but then sold it and kept the barrel. Had maybe, maybe a box of 50 through it, but I doubt it.

Hmmm, interesting option. I was thinking of a blued sporter weight barrel, but if you have a ss varmint weight on hand......

Might give you a ring tomorrow arvo sometime to discuss.
