Another - DIY Torch Mount

Post by luditeuser »

For those that don't want to change the stock/standard appearance of their rifle yet
want to mount a torch.
Don't want to glue/screw it to the stock.
Don't want to put it on their scope or have the barrel illuminated/reflecting/shining in the scope picture.
Be easy to transfer between rifles.
And be done without access to a lathe/milling machine.
This adaptation may give you some ideas.

The padded adapter mounts on the sling swivel stud and was originally for one of the cheap Chinese bi-pods. The small picatinny mounting was filed off and a section of rail was bolted/glued (Locktite) in place. The rail was also bent (quite easy to do in the vise) to match/parallel the barrel/bore.
My parts cost was under $20
The rails are readily available (via an Internet search)
The adapters may need some effort.
They have been described as - Swivel Stud Picatinny Slot Adaptor

Hope you find this useful

John

You can buy them ready made, but I have yet to find them available locally here, so mine came from Amazon.
