Yes perhaps a poor analogy. I wouldn't even run if a lion was chasing me. I'd just die tired

Well I couldn't get Trev running along side the projectiles with a stop watch like he offered to, but he did bring the crony along for me to get some speeds going for this cartridge.
87gn ICI SP projectiles propelled by 24gns of BM2 were traveling at a very sedate 2330FPS, give or take a few, not really impressive, and one of the reasons I want to use lighter projectiles in this little cartridge is I didn't think they would go very well.
75 Hornady Hp were a very different story altogether, with 24gns of BM2 giving me 2690FPS 25gns giving 2707fps and 26gns giving me 2778 FPS, the three shots printed a nice little group just as bit high as the rifle was sighted in to be an inch high at 100Y for the 87gn bullets, I cant really see any reason to use the 26gn load as the primers were pretty flat, though still slight rounding on the edges and bolt lift was very easy, I think I will settle for either 25grains or 25.5 depending on which is the more accurate. When,or should I say if, I can get my grubby little maulers on some 70 or 75 gn soft point projectiles, this nice little rifle will make a dandy goat and pig rifle out to around the 150 to 200 yards, and I wouldn't hesitate to slip one of those projectiles into the odd fallow deer that might cross my path.
