Sorry forgot to say I looked into it and think a hole new gun will be easy and cheaper thank making one.

Fair enough. I'd go a .270 out of those two. Just be prepared for some liveliness. Putting a limbsaver pad on whatever you get will help.
Have only shot a mates .270 a couple of times but it (using 130 gn Federal factory's) felt worse than my 300 Wby launching 150 gn projectiles at 3500 fps.

I've had both. Liked the 7/08 better to shoot but sold it before I killed anything with it

If you have decided on either a 7mm08 or a 270, I happen to know where there is a very nice accurate Brno 601 in 7mm08, only got 40 shots through it since rebarreled from 308. :wink: :wink:
