They weren't screws they were aluminium tubes drilled through then stock. My only guess is some sort of rest rig maybe. They were not evenly spaced and rather crudely executed.

Rather a crap job by some one and buggered if I know why you would take to a stock like that with a brill but each to there own.

I should be able to get it looking a bit better.

I won't be shooting it as as I'll be buggered if I can get 17rem case to chamber with out a lot of force on the bolt.

Saving for the barrel and fitting.
