Bought a Winchester 320 for the next young bloke in line.
He has a Winchester model 43 Single shot be being a Lefty it was difficult for him to load .
Solution grab him a 320 of off Abused Bums
Rifle looked good in the pics he sent so a price was agreed upon and the deal done.
Picked it up yesty and where to start
The stock had been poorly finished with Tru oil and barrelled action painted with Killrust black
Barrel is shiny with no obvious pitting and the Nikon Stirling scope is well a 1970`s vintage POS
Finish stripped of and a hand rubbed oil finish started
Paint stripped of Bolt handle and bottom metal and Birchwood Casey Perma Blue cold blue applied.
Now for the barrelled action firstly the trigger and mag well was removed and Citri Strip applied
The trigger now has a pull weight well under the 10lbs it arrived with and the Safety can be moved with out creating Blood blisters.
I was thinking of getting some of this for the remainder of the metalwork https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/28353367848 ... OON.R2.TR3

Progress photos.
What is wrong with doing the rest with Perma blue ? I have used it on a couple of old patch up jobs and it worked well. One old Lithgow I did 30 odd years ago is still good.
