That's the good thing about it mate, its pretty much an unknown for me. I only want to run 100gn bullets, so reckon Ill just start with 250/3000 and go up from there. What the case actually ends up measuring is anyones guess at the moment, might even get a mm or two more shoulder length, just so long as its different enough from main stream Ill be happy.

Re: The Worlds First 25 Camel
Brno 601 action and stock, sporter weight barrel sitting in the safe, Zeiss Conquest 3.5-10x44 scope, Hilver bridge mount and rings. Need to get a 6.5x47 body die for the odd occasion I need to bump it back a bit, seating and neck die by simplex 5/8th dies. Hoping to get around 32 = 3300 fps with 100gn bullets, either Hornady interlocks of Sierra pro hunter (if they make them) going with ADI 308 brass to start with, might try other brands if needs be. Either 2208 or 9 powder, probably Rem 9 1/2 primers as I have a couple of thousand.
That's the plan at the moment, but that could change depending on circumstances.

Re: The Worlds First 25 Camel
Thanks Dave, I hadn't really looked into what was available in the range of 100gn bullets for 25 cal, I spose I had better start getting a few of them together.

All it needs is a slight re-chamber:

Does the flow of the grain through the pistol grip look a bit sus though?

Re: The Worlds First 25 Camel
UPDATE
Went and had a yarn with the gunsmith in Griffith last Tuesday, checked a few measurements and gave me the thumbs up, The 25 Camel is a goer. Going to run the reamer in 1.5mm deeper giving me an extra 1.5mm of body, a little more powder space and the really important bit, nothing else the same. Just fortunately I have to go to Griffith in the morning with a dog that need some dental work at the vets, as I have to be there at around 8.30 and will probably have a few hours wait, I will be visiting the gunsmith at his workshop and dropping off my Brno 308, and the 25 cal barrel I have.
Am going to keep the 308 barrel, just in case I want to change back again for some reason. Am hoping that he has the job done in his usual timely fashion of two days.
Ordered 200 Lapua 308win brass from Cleavers when they had it on special a couple of weeks ago, should be turning up in the next couple of days. On the lookout for a 6.5x47 body die as part of my case forming. Eventually I will get a set of dies made that will be stamped 25 Camel.
Just starting to get a bit excited as this has been a long held dream/desire to name my own cartridge. 30 years plus in the planning.
