Get yourself some oil based stain from a hardware store.

Grab a small bottle and put 20ml (yes twenty) of your oil mix into the bottle, then drops of the stain until it is just a bit lighter than you think you want.

Put lid on and shake.

Allow to settle then using a rag apply to the raw wood. Allow to dry somewhat and add more tint if you think it necessary.

Once you have finished this small amount continue with the plain oil finish until you have achieved the finish you want.

i have seen some very nice colours but not what i am looking for.
what i want is a turps based colour [blue]
this will mix with the blow, but it seems to be hard to get and isnt available up this way.

i will probably end up going blonde at this stage.

i have emailed resene to see if they have it,but will have to wait and see.
