Not dumb, you could probably get some from Clark's Rubber, that's if they are still operating, or some such place. Might even be able to find some at a packaging place.

I know of a foam supply company close to me that sell it here in Adelaide. I also get sheets of egg croton type open cell foam for my gun cases 1200 x 2400. They might ship

I thought they had a sliding surface so the piece that holds the rifle could slide on the bottom block to enable for adjustments in aim and shooting position. I will have a look for the maxbox YouTube clip.
