Very nice 303, can see why the mashburn is such a winner, looks like a great little round, how many grains do you push your proj with?

I use 13gn of 2205 which is mild but accurate

Can I ask what is meant by "Historically Correct"?

Now my memory is shaky about these rifles - I have hankered after one - but I thought they were historically produced as:

.310 Cadet (aka .310 Greener)
.22 Long Rifle
and an odd cartridge called something like 297/230.

You might find a LOT of the 310's are actually 32-20 as well. In the mid fifties Mick Smith (Smiths Gunstore Sydney) decided to purchase 20000 cadets and rechambered them in 32-20 (as civilians werent allowed to have military calibres) and flog em off to the public for 20pound. They sold that well that he had over a dozen mates help out at his store to make a human chain to deal with the queue of people... After this success he purchased another 50000 and another 10000 rifles and did the same... They only had enough time to stamp the barrels with "32-20" on the first batch that was sold so there are thousands out there that say they are 310's but are actually 32-20's.... I found that out the hard way!

Id be interested in knowing what a rebarrel would be worth for this action though.. I've seen some very sexy rifles made from it!

Mine was done by the late Don Black and he chambered it in an improved version of the 218 Bee. Not quite a mashburn but it's pretty close. He also made up some dies to match.

It'd be worth getting prices before going ahead with the work though. I know the firing pin hole needs to be bushed plus any other problems that might arise could end up costing you more than you had hoped. Mine seems to have a nasty habit of bouncing fired cases off the scope and back into the loading port. Usually base first just to make it that little bit harder to get out in a hurry.

If I ever have to get mine re-barreled I'd be looking at the 17 Ackley Hornet!

What about a "310 cadet Magnum". That is a re chambering to 32-20, but using a 316 jacketed or appropriate 317 to 321 cast lead projectile.

Or a version of the 30 streaker /308-357 mag.

Could bang that out reasonably fast......
