6BR load help

Guys,

I bought a 6br off Tony Z at Christmas, wasn't Santa good? I have only shot one comp so far, using 70gr Sierra HPMK, with 31 gr BM2 and a 205M primer. both groups were .3 something, in the rain, with one score card 149.5 / 151.5 possible. Seating is about 10 thou out, with an Omark 44 action.

Yes I would be checking the scales for the correct weight of powder, they may be faulty if 33 grains is only half a full case.
If they are under charged that would explain the sooty cases.

In my 6BR, a charge of 33 grains leaves a wavy line around the case neck and very good accuracy on targets/fluffy heads. It is also high in capacity filling up to just below the case neck.

Enjoy the rifle, it's a brilliant cartridge.

Ok just got a text from my mate who owns all the reloading gear and helped me load the rounds he has taken full responsability for the fuck up and tells me the scales were 8grns out. So next question is it worth me sticking with what i have and trying again or just give the 2208 the arse and go to bm2 is velocity the only downside of 2208 vs BM2?

8 grains out is a fair bit ! lucky it wasn't 8 grains over.....check everything yourself - then you know it's right eh ? the 2208 could be best used for heavier bullets but you might as well try some loads with the correct charge since you've got 2208 on hand.

Use the BM2, it is a faster burn and suitable for that bullet weight. Like Sam said, don't be 8 grains out though.
