What is Your Favourite Varminting Bullet?
Now I love the Ballistic Tips from Nosler or the V-max from Hornady, both are great and you notice the difference with the better BC! However I like to be as economical as I can when it comes to reloading so my favourite varminting bullet would have to be the 50gn Nosler SHOTS for my 222 and the 55gn SHOTS for my 22-250.
I just find that these cheap projectiles shoot great in my rifles and kill really well, as well as being destructive on small game.
What is your fave varminting bullet and why?

Ballistic Tips and BlitzKings have nearly priced themselves out of my market this year, so that leaves the V Maxes, which nearly always shoot better, anyway, in my .204s and .223s. For the more modest .221 Fireball, I try to use 50gr. SPSX Hornadys, since they are the least expensive good shooting bullet the Fireball likes.
I've always liked Sierra and Hornady products better than Nosler, anyway. For whatever reasons, they've shot better and cost less. I've been on plant tours in both Sierra's and Hornady's production plants, too, which sort of makes them "more friendly" in my eyes, Nosler is located "way out West" and so is Speer, whose bullets I can't make shoot no matter what I've tried

I like the Speer TNT's.
Esp the 70 TNT in a .243 HB I used to use for culling work.
there was no hassles with run/hop off's and they just worked.
I also like the 120 grain Rem factory Core-lokts in my various 6.5's.
they are tough enough to hold together to get to where they need to be and expansive enough to expand and destroy oll the right organs for a quick kill.
I have used the NBT and V-max in several rifles and all have worked well.
There are also a couple of Aussie made projectiles that I like.
Charlies from CDC projectiles 60 FBHP match in my .223
and
Littles 57 FBHP high BC long ogive also in my .223.
interested in someone using the A-max for hunting in a .224 Cal. I wish they made a 60 or 65 A-max for .224 cal that would work in standard twist rates. I would love to try sopmething like that.

I have found 50g nos b/tips and blitzkings extremely accurate in my .223 howa, but v-max's are still sub moa most of the time. All seem to kill equally as well. (obviously using the same recipe's in my hand loads)
Nos b/tip's in 150g are super accurate in my win. .308, yet I haven't managed to get 165g's much less than an inch @100y very often, still exp with loads though. Hope to solve the mystery soon.

I use 52gr A max in my 22-250AI and they are superbly accurate and very deadly.
I use both B/T and V max in the 223 and have found the B/t's fractionaly more accurate but both very explosive. The blitzkings never made a good load in this rem.
243 was a straight Sierria hollow point.
6mmBr likes bergers then Ballistic tips.
270 likes ballistic tips.
308 back to the ballistic tips.
Have a good one,
Macca
