I just purchased a .25-06 and will be reloading for it in the future I've noticed there isn't alot of selection in projectiles ie no vmax in .257 I'm looking for an all round projectile so I can use it to varmint as well as pigs/goats so far it looks like I'll pick the 100 gr nosler unless someone has any other suggestions.

i personally run 2 projectile weights, 85-87gn and 117-120gn both weights have a good number of choices
85gn nosler bt is awsome but hte taipan 87gn HP equals it for half the price if you can find any
117gn hornady SST is great accurate and good killer currently searching for a cheaper option
used to use the 100gn sierra SPBT good allrounder, doesnt destroy varmints much but seemed good one medium game

Plenty of 25 cal bullets available you just have to look ...

I would suggest
75grn V Max
90 Sierra HP
100grn Speer SP

others include the
Nosler 85BT
Nosler 115BT
Sierra 100HPBT Match (yes a match bullet)
87grn SP by numerous makers

There are also plenty of bigger pills in the 110 to 120 range

cheers

The Nosler site lists they have a 100gr BT as well the 85 is varmint and 100 and 115 is hunting, these 100 and 115 are the same class as the 100gr BT's I have used in the 6.5 and they work well from crows rabbits foxes and have used them on pigs and they didn't complain

+1 for the Nosler 100 grain B.T. I have put a few thousand through my .25-06. I don't think you need a bigger bullet in the .25-06.

It is very accurate and will work well on all the game you mentioned, plus bigger stuff if you place the shot right.

This bullet is 45% soild in the base section, I would not use it for built up areas on rabbits etc, as the soild base may bounce a long way. You would be better off with a varmint bullet in this situation.

I use the 110gr Nosler Accubond and the 115gr Nosler Ballistic Tip in my .25/06 - loads shoot to same POI. Use the ballistic tip for pigs, goats and other stuff, the Accubond for reds.

Used to use the 85gr NBT in my old Rem 700 BDL - even that varmint bullet smashed pigs no worries.

Hunting wight like the 87gn Sierra SP's and the 110gn Accubonds I mentioned? Dont be shy to try the V Max either you will be surprised.

(dunno why everyone is still hell bent on Nosler BT's?????????????)

Because they have worked well in the past, although in 6.5 they have been a little sparse of late so the SST and vmax have proved accurate so far.

Mate I run the 75 V Max for most of my hunting and have had no problems, I have dropped goats and pigs with this bullet when they turn up unexpectedly.
If targeting goats and pigs I load the 90 Sierra and it does the job very nicely thankyou. I also find the 100 Speer a good taker of larger animals.

I dont doubt that mate not at all, my comment could have been worded a little better  it was more thinking out loud than anything....... spoken to a few newcomers to reloading just lately that rush out and buy BT's first off without even considering other types/brands. Just an observation
