My break action single shot didn't like W296 much, but shoots OK with AR2205. Being a small case you need to work up in small steps, before the K conversion I used 11.0 grains of 2205 and a 40 grain Win HP projectile, or 10.5 grains and a 45gn Win HP.
The cases are fragile, stretch easily due to the shape and benefit from neck sizing only rather than FL every time. Better still make it a K hornet, the cases will last a lot better..
cheers
Sam

I was the opposite, my gun didnt like 2205, with the 45gr sierra hornet projectiles or the 45gr hornady bee hollowpoints with 2207 worked better.

G'day Ron,
Have a chat to Mark "Hornet Boy" at Silverdale. He usually works on the weekends.
He is a tragic Hornet Loony.
You can reload at the range as well.

Good Luck,

Charlie

W296 or AR2205 are good powder choices with the former offering more velocity and the latter better accuracy in my rifle . I used 11.8gns of W296 behind a 40gn Taipan hollow point . Velocity was about 2900 FPS and gave good case life. The Taipan projectile craps on anything else I tried (tried several) for killing power . Accuracy was on a par with Sierras that cost twice as much (sub 3/4 MOA in my CZ) .
