Mate I've used the sierra's in my 250, still got some loaded now, i used 2209 but I'm not sure on weight until i get home and check my load log. As far as stabilize, i don't think mine did from memory, though i didn't really play with them much.

Brad, what's your barrel twist rate? do you know?

Mines 1:12 and 60gr is about its limit, but stabilisation is as much about the length of the projectile as it is the weight, they both have a significant impact.

also I have a very nice little spreadsheet for calculating this, drop me a PM and I'll see if I can email you a copy, it takes into account weight, speed, twist rate and bullet length and gives you a stability calc, so far everything it said would be good in my 250 has been good and what its calculated as bad has been so, its seams very accurate.

For that bullet stability program try this link......... not sure if it will work.
Its an excel file you need to download, not big.

Forgot to add you need a stability factor of at least 1.3 for supersonic loads. The factor is 2 for subsonic loads. It is very accurate in my experience

Brad,

I used to use the 63gr Sierras in my 22-250 when hunting pigs, i was using 32.5gr of BM2 powder for a velocity of 3475fps. They grouped 5 under an inch and performed real well on the pigs.
