.25 cal bullets

Post by dave »

Hi,

Just wondering what people use in there .25cal etc rifles? I see there isnt a large variety but looking at the twist of the barrels produced for these rifles is it a better option to look at 100gr-120gr as compared to the 75-90gr range?

Im looking at using mine more as a long range rabbit rifle and am not sure something like a 75gr vmax will hold acceptable accuracy over a long distance compared to say a 115gr nosler bt?

Any thoughts would be handy before i lay down some $ on more reloading gear.......just when i thought i was getting out of reloading i buy another rifle

10 twist barrels in 25 cal will handle just about anything from 75g varmint pills right through to the 115 g VLDs. If you were just using 75 and 80 grainers for varminting, a 14 twist would be ok if you could get one.

dave,

The 75 V Max is outstanding as a varmit round. If you want something heavier for varmit work the Sierra 90 HP is great and works well on most anything. The Nosler 85 BT also works very well.

All will do the job as far as you can see.
