6mm ARC

Been following reports for over a week or so of yet another cartridge in the long line of attemps to get an M4 to be an M14. Never going to work in their 9 and 14 inch barrels in standard issue M4s and it is time to go back to the old routine of design cartridge, then build rifle around it like they did with the 30/06, 7.62x51 and 5.56.
What i want to know is what pressures did they run to to get the 108s to those speeds in a 24 inch barrel out of a PPC? I've run 6BRs for years in 30 inch barrels to get 2800 to 2850 fps tops.
It's time to admit that what works in the jungle, in a helicopter or APC, is left short across the desert sands or ravines of most recent conflicts. A rifle for the job not a rifle for all jobs.

Just a different spin on a 6mm Grendel.

Hornady has the ability to get velocities in factory ammo that cant be replicated, a few of my brothers mates have tried to match the velocity of the superformance ammo and cant get within 100-2100fps of it. I tried to match the old 223 TAP ammo in a rem 700 i use to own and i wasnt able to match that either.

You can’t replicate due to the powder used.

For a concept weapon that was originally designed to be lightweight right down to the ammunition and Duralium barrel, then given to an untrained street thug from New York in the hope neither return, the objective was achieved. It is time to pick a cartridge, then redesign a rifle around that.
