Hey tonyZ, CFE BLK & 221 Fireball
I know your a fan of this great powder also, got some time the other day to finally test a load I reckoned would work. Freezing cold morning so the first shot on a clean and cold barrel did what you would expect, I did adjust the scope just fired 5 more rounds. i am very happy with the results the 5 shot group equates 1/4" MOA

Great result johnno. I cannot express how good that powder is at transforming rifles into hammers. The biggest thing for me is the reduction in pressure that leads to longer case life in both my Hornet and 7.62x39s. The accuracy is a bonus that justifies its use in the first place.
I'm glad it worked out for you.

I'm using it in my 7.62x39 on sambar culling with Barnes projectiles, don't ask the weight
Now looking at 130grn Woodleighs, got me stumped how more blokes have not jumped on this powder its great and measures like talc

The rifle belonged to a very good friend in the US I bought it off him and imported due to the high figure walnut stock, this is no longer the case, long story

The word from Winchester Australia is that their Hodgdon line is being dropped. Both the CFEs and LilGun.

Well thats very disappointing news Tony, it seems that we will be stuck with just ADI, great powder it is but there are better powders for small cases, Barry this stuff would be a winner in the pee wee.
I will check with my dealer to see if he has anymore but from memory he ordered for me and had it dropped off by the winchester rep. I'll post here if I can locate some and we can work on a parcel shuffle

Your repeating yourself
When Winchester got it in it was'nt hard to find and you could order through your local shop who deal with Winchester. anyone wanting maybe try Winchester and ask if it was delivered to your dealer or other close handy.
Just checked my stock and I have 4 3/4 containers so Johno & son are ok, ive just tried it behind the Woodleigh 130 grn .312" bullet in 7.62x39 using the same 30grn load as the Barnes 123 grn shoots pretty much same POI.
I reckon older blokes here would remember back to the early 70s where I reckon you had a bigger choice of powders, certainly brands if not the selection of type. no Noble anymore or IMI so if Tony is correct we will be down to ADI & Winchester

Re: Hey tonyZ, CFE BLK & 221 Fireball
There is still a lot of it about and i have bought a lot of it as i do with anything that i find works for me. I have enough of both the CFEs for years to come. It's a shame others won't get to see how good it is until some other mob like NIOA take it on. Vihtavuori was gone for a while but it's back now so the same will hopefully happen with the CFEs.
