Well I just learned something.

7.62x63 is the metric nomenclature for 30-06.

Never knew that.

I knew that they are 3006 and the box says 1949 what else does anyone know?

They are French. The pill sheds the outer skin on exiting the barrel to revel a boomerang shaped metal core so that it turns in flight and heads back over the firers shoulder. Thus allowing you to return fire as you run away

the french had lots of USA surplus after ww2 and I bet that ammo was made for it, those clips work well in 03 springfields, also shot that ammo and was lucky to get 4 inch groups at 100m in two different rifles. there was a lot in QLD for sale, but not many bought it twice !!!

It is berdan primed,possibly corrosive,primers well crimped in,I would be wary of the cupronickel projectiles,they are prone to give metallic fouling in barrels.It is a long time since I used it,however my impression was that it was higher pressure than US military ammo,the powder was a square flake.
