Creedmoor wildcats...

Guys,
If your shooting a Creedmoor or wildcat (particularly a 22 Creedmoor) can you advise what your internal case capacity is?

I'm kinda amazed to see references that despite the Creedmoor essentially being a 22/250 30deg improved, some internal case capacities are being given within a grain of water to the 243Win based wildcats.

Anybody got a 22 Creedmoor reamer ... like ... just in case. :P
Cheers...

So with the 22 Creedmoor you could just use 22/250 brass?

Could you fire form factory 22/250 ammo?

So the 22 Creedmoor is really just a 22/250 AI.

Interesting. Sounds good though

Yeah, nah, kinda...

It's apparently a round-about process but you can make 22Creedoor brass from 22/250, jut not really worth it now that 6mm Creedmoor is commercially available.

Odd you ask, the basic answer is no on factory, but have read of others that have long loaded projectiles to jam into the lands and thus formed brass from 22/250. Unsure how true it is though as I'm not up on the case dimensions.

Found this online...

Most people use the AI to signify an Ackley Improved and he's best known for his 40deg shoulders. The Creedmoor has 30deg shoulder. But body is puffed out.

Crap that case gives me an itch!

Sent off enquries to PTG for their reamer specs, plus teeing up the gunsmith that'll do the work.

This also fascinates me, 22Creedmoor brass made from fire-formed 22/250. I hate fire-forming, but the option to use readily available brass is a blessing.

Ultimately, I can't find a case with this capacity that will both feed well from magazine, launch 75gr AMax at 3350+fps from 24-26" barrels, and uses readily available brass.

Just how realistic are those velocities with that projectile Con ? I think from memory Waldo got around that speed with his 5.6x57 which is a lot bigger case. I am skeptical. :D

I believe Waldo got around 3299fps with the 75g Amax, factory FMJ's were clocked at 3371fps so fair chance there was still a bit to go?
