Have'nt had the badger in maybe 2 years so grabbed a handful of of the standard load, 15.8 gr of RL-7 & 32 gr Calhoons bullets still shoots lovely 4 shots that went 0.302" velocity was a bug surprise as Calhoon lists 3.550 fps in 24" barrel mine has been chopped to 20" average was 3,231 fps sop over 300 fps different than published, average for that weight should have been about 25 fps per 1" barrel loss. I'll check the chrony again I think
I put the following loads together & results below. All with 32 gr bullets
CFE BLK
15.0 gr = average 3,230 fps accuracy 0.600"
15.3 gr = average 3,298 fps accuracy 0.550"
15.6 gr = average 3,369 fps accuracy 0.870"
Conditions were stinking hot, shooting across the flat there was a terrible heat haze which really effected accuracy testing, could pick the rifle up by the barrel due to heat after that small lot of shooting due mostly to heat from the sun.
Ive told you can the same rate as AA 1680 in the 19 badger so I can still move it up a little, no pressure signs at all even considering how hot it was. This powder is magic, like Tony my 7.62x39 is accurate as buggery and giving 150 fps faster than any other powder, its going to work in the 221 fireball also, I really wonder if it work ok in the 222 rem.

I wonder what it would be like in the 20 VT
Johno is trying a different powder like trying a different rifle or cartridge

It would be great in the VT mate, seems to love cases around the 221 capacity. As time goes on it will show up in other cases, its the most impressed ive been with a new powder
Re: CFE BLK in the 19 badger
Yep, CFE BLK is a tad slower than AA1680, making it quite interesting fir the smaller cases!!

John that sounds very promising. What i have found with BLK is that if you shoot a nice group today it will repeat tomorrow and the next day etc. Sadly some powders don't (LilGun). Like you, it has transformed my Ruskies and made the Hornet a better rifle than it already was. I have always been very wary with hype about new cartridges, powders bullets etc. CFE BLK is the real deal.
Keep it going John. I'm certain a lot of people are keeping a close eye on your results.

I think it will only be thee and I mate watching the powders performance
Just been looking at Paul Garins load data on the 20 garin, he fairly bumps the AA 1680 as opposed to Calhoon's loads for almost same weight bullet. Will continue to play

Tony Z,
How well does it do in the Hornet? AA1680 and Alliant MP-300 are said to be the sweetest in the Hornet, so the BLK has my interest.
Cheers...
