Shiney rings on brass

The pic shows my 204 brass has a bright ring just down from the shoulder
but no raised edge inside or out and none of the usual pressure signs. The load
is not a hot one and shoots very well, I'm just puzzled where this ring comes from.
Could it be a from machining marks in the chamber or whatever, does anybody
have any suggestions?
Thanks in advance, cheers

Is it only on fired brass? The reason I ask is mine get that and it’s caused by them rattling around in their storage case in the car.

Mine too.

But if that happens on firing have you measured to see if they are stretching?

This could be the answer, as no stretching or problems other than these
marks. I will clean them and carry them differently after shooting a few
off to make sure. Thanks for that, I would have never even considered it
Cheers

Same.
Came back from Yass and was sorting out brass to load and had the same marks. Had me scratching my head for a while.
