.270Win loads for 130gn Hornady SST AR2206H

Hi Guys,

I haven't been able to find specific load data for the above. Any idea of min/max loads?

Much appreciate any guidance, with the usual caveats.

Wouldn't be my choice of powder but start load around 42gr max 45gr.

I agree with macca, 2209 would be a much better powder for the 270, if you have any just use a starting load for any 130gn bullet and go onwards and upwards.

I'm using 2206H so I only have one powder for all my cals. Keeps things a bit simpler to start with and, eventually I'll try other stuff.

I have run Hornady 130gr Interbond up to 45gr no problem, so your figures bode well.

Oh, Hogdgon lists a max at 46.9 for IMR4895. I'm not interested in max yet but it's a good to know...

Spent a few hour searching and pretty much arrived at the same thing, and Macca's figures are in the ball park.

Better to ask than to make an assumption...

Why would you want to only use one powder when the rifles you have are best served by different powders?

I'm just limiting the variables while I learn the ropes.

Using one powder for all your calibers is good in theory, but that's all.

I tried it, I now have most of ADI's range.

I just finished a load for one of my guns with a lot slower powder and the results were very surprising and impressive.

You will end up with different powder in the end so just embrace it now.

If you get the right powder now you will save more load development down the track.

If your worried about mixing them up I always make sure I leave the tube on the reloading benchfor the powder I'm using!

As for reloading manuals I just use ADI'S Website.

I wouldn't confuse them, I only have out what I need for the job.
