So as i said got the 19 hornet back together and want to work with 32gr bullet and CFE BLK. Hogdon loads as follows

17 Ackley hornet 30gr bullet CFE BLK
10.0gr = 2,726 fps @ 36,900 CUP 10.7gr = 2.917fps @ 45,400 CUP

22 K Hornet
14.4gr = 31,030 fps @ 26,3000 CUP 16.0 = 3,219 fps @ 30,300 CUP

19 Hornet 32gr bullet
AA 1680 13.5gr = 3,340 fps
4227 (2205) 12.0gr = 3,275 fps
Vhit N 120 13.3gr = 3,270 fps.

So lets work out a safe starting load for CFE BLK

You said the burn rate is between 1680 (fast) and N200 (slow) I would be picking a mid range load for N200 and work from there :)

Seeing as similar case but larger cal the 17hornet loads would be in the light side. Should be okay to start i reckon.

Fastest to slowest
#68 AA 1680
#69 CFE BLK
#70 Norma 200

Bugger all difference in burn rate.
My thoughts were along those lines Ryan I reckon 11.0 to 11.5gr would be a pretty safe start load.

Only 26,000 cup, I would be loading it up a bit more, might even crack 36,000 fps :mrgreen:

No worries mate.

Re the powder I just loaded a 123gr in front of 30gr CFE BLK, no presure worries and seemed mild to the shoulder, came and ran the powder through the RCBS measure and did 20 rounds, I checked everyone of the scales and the dropped load was perfect, this is a nice powder
