Need a recommendation for .270Win Projectiles
I've been using up some .270Win ammo that came with a recent rifle purchase, and have just about used up all the supplied projectiles. So, now I'm in the market to purchase some more proj's.
While I could waste a lot of (additional) time looking through websites etc. AND trying to decipher the marketing claims made about one type or another maybe it's just easier to ask for suggestions here.
I want to stick around 130gr and probably want one type for paper punching (general range use) and the other for hunting.
Firstly, any .270Win user and what proj's would you recommend?
Also, any good websites or LGS's to scrounge through for best pricing?
Someone will ask what proj's I've been using: Hornady 130Gr Interbond (#27309) *OR* whatever the factory ammo came with (mostly Federal).

Sierra pro hunters, haven't used them in 270, but every other calibre I have used these type of projectiles they work perfectly, or if you can find them Hornady interlock

Raven,
140gr Sierra Game King or 110gr Barnes TTSX for critters. If you want to put holes in paper, I have used 135gr SMK, they will shoot 10 shot, 8" groups at 1000yds. For shits and giggles, 90gr Sierra hollow points are fun to put through small things, tends to have explosive results when you are driving them hard.
That's it, spent my 2 cents.

why do you want to have two different loads with two different pills. The ones that kill animals will come with a 100% guarantee that they will kill paper too

My thinking was along the lines of having cheaper pills for 'plinking' (if such a thing is done with .270)

macca,
I'd prefer to use the best pill possible for all shooting but that can get rather expensive. Hence, I thought of one projectile for top accuracy and another as a price/accuracy compromise.
It may not be worth having two types of projectiles... What does everyone do here, forget the price and just shoot OR have something a bit cheaper for casual shooting?

I can't shoot with pills that give me poor accuracy. So I buy what works best. If it gets too expensive I plink with the 22lr. Good for practice regardless is the humble 22.
In the 270 I used 135 sirria match kings for target and gamekings for hunting because my rifle liked them best.
Cheers

I've had a good run with Speer bullets, and they offer a pair of 130gr .270 bullets that are well priced. The Hot-Cor flat base spitzer, and a cup/core boat-tail spitzer.
This page is a fairly good price guide; https://www.rebelgunworks.com.au/collec ... pe_270-cal
Rebel are good to deal with too.
Most .270 Win rifles are pretty good at shooting differing bullet weights to a very similar POI; at least for 130gr and lighter. I've found that there's no real need to re-sight when going from 130's, to the Speer 90gr HP's that I've used on foxes and goats - still within 'minute of boiler room' accuracy.
