A little help please

Recent events have put an idea into my small brain and I am needing some help. I love the vartarg, but need/want a 17. It will be a build on an older action, most likely a Brno, possibly an Anshutz or a tikka M55. It must have a 30 degree shoulder and a longer neck, similar to the 222 but with the shoulder pushed back a bit so it isn't a 17/222.
Your thoughts are most welcome. Calibre creep is not permitted.
Cheers
Glen

Why not a 17 fireball. You have most of the gear already for the vartag.

I should of mentioned it needs to be different enough to have its own name. It will be known as the 17 JLR.
The machball is at the top of the list tho.

I guess the best bet would be to check as many reamer prints as you can find, then work out what hasn't been done and modify something to suit, 17/222 run in a bit shorter, 17 Machball run in a bit deeper, not much else really.

Also have a look at the 17 Javelina shortened 17-222 from the nostalgic era. I am thinking of a Javelina rimmed in the martini as will make it easier to fit.
Hard one as there have been a few.
Here are a good line up of the 17s

Glenn, if you make up an example of your proposed case I can check it for feeding through an Anschutz Mod 54 .222. I have a .17FB or .17 MkIV case here that I checked through the Annie, and it fed fine. I understand DSD has an Annie recently chambered in one of the .17s based on th .221 case.

You could always buy my barely used 17 machball and run your reamer in but I would be asking exhorbitant money for it

How about a 17PPC pushing the 30gr gold (from the woodchuck den) at 4600 fps

Just drew this up. It's a .222 case (his first centerfire was a 222) with the shoulder bumped back to 32mm from the case head (dad was born in '32). 30 deg neck with neck length to be shortened to match 222 neck length.
Thoughts?

Looks the goods. How does it compare to the Javelina?
