Awesome read.
I like the way he has the detail of cleaning and the exact lube processes. He has put that in there for a reason! In my limited experience the Qty of lube on cores and cleaning of cores along with the application of lube to jackets is critical for consistent weights and final diameters.
His jackets must be awesomly consistent to get that weight consistently. 0.01gn!! I am happy if I can keep my drawn jackets to within 0.1 gn. It does not sound like much but if you are a little out in each step you can blow you weights out by .4gn very easily.
I like the way he lubes his cores, it sounds better than my tumbling method and I will give it a go.

Luke at ProCal has starting makign his own projies. It looks like a cool idea but i dont have enough time to go shootign now let along havign time to make projies.

But imagine being in control of the whole process from start to finish. Not to mention no supply problems with your preferred projectile.

If you buy them in the right quantities you wont have a supply problem. As fas i know you have ot buy thousands of jackets at a time so it makes it hard to start out with more than 1 calibre or bullet weight as different dies can be required.

I also had a look at bullet swaging gear, but after pricing the gear and knowing how much time it can take from when my older brother made some on his swaging gear I am more interested in going down the CNC route as for the same price I can buy a decent CNC with good tollerances and not be stuck to the style of projectile or diameter the dies are made for.

Yes it is a lot of work......manual labour, I often wonder how they can sell them at the price they do.

I remember Bill Hallam saying it took 12 hrs of work, mainly lever work to make 1000 BR bullets 66 & 68 gn weight. Fascinating process but not for me!
As I recall each weight had a different jacket length and the multiple O frame presses and dies set up cost thousands.
You dont go down that path unless your wanting ultimate control over your projectiles. especially if others have already perfected the process.
There is Kingy at the Melb BR Club, Copperheads, and others but not for me to make......
