Action to suit 7mm SAUM

Hey all
I plan to build a 7mm SAUM using 168gn VLDs using ar2213sc or ar2217
Now I'm thinking of using a CZ or Winchester 300 or338 win-mag action (when I can find one)so that I play with seating depths with the VLDs
So my question is can I us a std throat reamer or does it have to be longer ? . And barrel length ? 26 or 28in
Thanks for any info you can share

Before that two humped lumpy dick wades into the argument - I will get in first.

Have you had a good look at the Zastava action?
Cheaper - yes.
Great design
Controlled feed
One of the easiest "owner" adjustable triggers

Ok downsides would be
Factory stocks are well - rugged
Action isn't slick to start with - wow you have to use them to smooth them

There are fairly easy to get hold of in the magnum action size and come in Blued or Stainless.
They will hold a good barrel thickness too without getting a bit of tension through the action.

Now as to your actual question . . .
A standard reamer will be fine, however you can always as your 'smith to throat to a dummy cartridge that you supply.
26" tube - take advantage of the magnum powder charge.

Running a short action cartridge in a long action then chambering it with a standard reamer (set up for a short action) seems a bit counterintuitive. I would load up some dummies with the 168gr VLD's seated at an optimal length then ask the 'smith to run a neck reamer in accordingly.

Just my 2c.

I think you will find head size different on 300 win bag and saum.
I would also opt for a short action

Case head/bolt face is the same for the SAUM/WSM and the belted mags.
