Well, at least we know you can push a red button and pull the trigger on a cordless drill. Good start. That's not the diddly dee taters boiler is it ??

On a serious note, those butane burners get pretty hot quick, how long are you taking for the cases to get annealed ??

At least he knows what he's good at, unlike some window lickers with numerical dyslexia.

I would count to three and dunk. These Lapua cases seem to be thicker so I was counting to 4 before they started to change colour

Wow you all fancy using a cordless drill, us poor folk have to spin them by hand! Actually a brass prep job I dont mind doing, brought some 223 brass back from the dead couple weeks back.

When you say "thicker", what are you comparing that too?

Just be aware that cartridge brass is made using anywhere from Cu80/Zn20 to Cu60/Zn40. Colour is sometimes an indicator and there are comparison charts around but it's not definitive.

A bit rough I know but it's a summary as opposed to looking the TDS for each grade of brass within the range: http://www.justin-young.net/wiki/var/up ... _brass.pdf

Basically brass can appear more red than yellow depending on the zinc content, let alone the oxide/tarnish level. Colour being relatively subjective at the best of times becomes less predictable with a changing base metal colour as you heat.

:homer: Those nickel plated brass cases and copper washed steel cases take forever to glow  I needed a laugh today anyway.
