Hi all,

About 6 years ago whilst at my LGS, the highland sales rep was at the counter when I was picking up my new shooting iron! He gave me a price I couldnt say no to $249 for 500 rounds of 90gr soft point! So it's all my .243 has eaten, now I have been reasonably happy with its performance, certainly been MOPig or MODog.

I am aware it is not considered top/high quality ammo but is the brass suitable for use in reloading? I have never reloaded before but seeing as though I have 400ish cases here I am keen to give it a try. I have a mate who is tooled up and we have half a brain( and a couple of reloading Manuals ) between us, so we won't kill our selves but will this brass be ok or do I just piff it and start with new???

It'll work fine mate. I've used it for a few rifles including a 243. Just give it all the usual inspections for cracks, dents etc.

Piff it to me ... $20 ... you pay postage.

It's very good brass, better than the shit being paraded with American name brands on it. I find PPU brass at the moment to be much better than mainstream US brass. Using it in my 35Whelen (30/06 opened), 308Win, 243Win, 22Hornet.

Certainly worth keeping ... or sell it at about $70 per 100 and buy more factory ammunition.

Only beef I had against it was early on they used that green primer sealer that was a pain in the arse, but it doesn't generally split necks like some American brass can be apt to at times lately.

So yeah ... worth keeping.

Smart play though if you had x400 would be to accept that barrel life is probably about 2000 rounds ... you've shot up x400, so x200 cases reloaded x10 each (easily achieved if you set up dies correctly and look after the brass) means you have about x200 pieces in excess that you can sell and get some money back.
