Reloading / Shooting equipment & technique Demo Weekend
Posted: Wed Dec 12, 2012 8:46 am
Want to learn more about reloading and or see what some of the benchrest shooters that are winning long range matches and shooting records are doing ?
We are planning to run a reloading & equipment demonstration weekend at Batemans Bay SSAA range on Feb 23rd & 24th.
There will be several Benchrest shooters there with reloading benches set up to demonstrate what they do with case prep, how to set up dies, seating depth & headspace, neck turning and explain the equipment that they use. We will try and cover from the absolute basics through to more advanced techniques.
Equipment would cover such things as wind flags, rests & bags, presses, dies, scales, specialist tools, measuring tools, cleaning gear etc.
Peter VanMeurs from Procal will be there with a shop load of gear on sale. Pete is a qualified and experienced gun smith and will be on hand to answer questions and offer advice. Pete has also offered to take pre orders.... that way you could order reloading gear, tools or cleaning stuff and then be shown how to set it up correctly and use it....
The range will also be open, so people could potentially do some load development work, bench technique work and practice also. If you bring your own dies etc, we could assist with this process.
It is primarily focused on Benchrest / long range shooting, but would equally appeal to the varmint / tactical or silhouette crowd as well as those that are looking to get into reloading for the first time.
There would be a nominal charge to cover the ranges costs for running the weekend & I would like committment from people to scale the event to the number of participants.
Please either reply on here, or email me at anthony@clydeauto.com.au
This is a first for us and has come about at the request of several of the Fly shooters that want to learn more. The potentially great thing to see, is that those of us that have been winning matches are prepared to be there, show our equipment and how we use it.
The weekend will be open to all SSAA members & camping will be available at the range-
There will also be opportunity for a buy swap and sell amongst SSAA members....
Please let me know what you think and if you are interested to come along.
Cheers
Anthony
