222 load data

Post by mitchellchandler_au »

Hi all,

I just got myself a BSA Hunter in 222 (thanks KIWI for the help with taking out the bolt) I plan on using the nosler 52 HPBT SHOTS projectiles in it. What sort of powder do you reccomend I try in it?

Thanks for your responses.

mitchellchandler_au,

Try 2206, 2206H or 2208 you should have at least one of those as an F Class shooter.

You can also use Benchmark 1 or 2.

2207 & 2219 will also work well.

Not much help really now that I look at it.

run the one you use in your target gun and you can use it to get rid of those bits of powder left in tins.

cheers

Agree with Rinso on the ADI powders, I've also had lots of luck with W748.

flyer,

I agree W748 is outstanding as is W760.
I stopped using them when supply became patchy, nothing worse than having all your loads for a powder you cant get consistantly

cheers

Rinso,

I heard that there was a problem getting them from various people, but everytime I needed some I always found some (the W748 anyway). If your ever need any let me know, I come out your way a bit.

2208 is a bit on the slow side for the .222 . 2207 gives better velocity I think you'll find . Will be trying 2206H in mine . A touch slower than IMR 4895 which gives very good velocity in the .222 .
The ADI (and Uncle Nick's) loads for the .222 with 2206H are a joke I think (slow) . Will soon find out for sure .
