I am after some opinions on why these primers are raised around the firing pin hole. At first I thought this was presure and might still be.
The rifle is a Clancy trued rem 204R 26 long Lija barrel. The rifle is 7 years old and had 700 to 1200 shots through it. I cant remember if it has always done this or not but it has just been pointed out to me by my brother that he thinks my loads are hot. I have used the same 100 rem and 50 noslers since I have had rifle and always full lenthed size. I have lost a few and had about 15 with split necks until I annealed the brass.
I have not had stiff bolt lift and the primer pockets are still tight.
I normally run 25.4 RE10x. As you can see on target I have tried 26.8grn of 2206h with rem 7 1/2 and CCI br primers.... 27.7grn 2206h...29grn win748 and all the primers look the same and interestly the loads all have same point of impact on target. The groups were shot laying on ground with bipod.
A couple of thoughts were weak firing pin or a bigger firing pin hole.
I just like shooting a few foxes and in no way an expert so dont be to critical of me Thats why Im asking the experts here

it is a high pressure round and i get the same results. I only use the rem 7 1/2 br primers as they have the thickest cups. i pierced win srp on my first reloads in my factory 204 way back when and was given the primer advice on the 204 forum.

Try Federal gold match 205GM primers. I use 26.8gn of 2206H in my 204 tikka without that primer problem using 205GM primers.

Bit average getting a trued rem that doesnt have a bushed firing pin setup. Anyway you can get around it by using thicker cup primers.

Rem 7.5, CCI BR4, CCI 450 (magnum) are the ones you probably want to run. They all have 25 thou thick cups where others are thinner and may pierce or flow more than these three. I buy the CCI450's by the thousand box and use them in my 20 prac with r10x and BM2 and also in the 223 with BM2 and 2208 and then in the 308 with 2208 for f class.

Ive never had much luck with rem primers accuracy wise. The BR4 is the largest of the lot in diameter and I have trouble seating them in lapua palma 308 cases. CCI450's are next down and my preferred f class primer at the moment and rem 7.5's next down in diameter- I have a box of them about 80 left and wont use them for a while. For hunting, I would use the BR4 alot more but they are pretty expensive so just go the 450's as they are cheap as chips at my LGS. My rem bolts dont need bushing on the firing pins- I was pretty lucky but a mates 17 fireball SPS varminter craters primers pretty bad.

I use CCi BR and rem 7 1/2. I have never had a pierced primer and all the loads are in the min to max loading mannuals recomendations and never had other signs of pressure.
Will just keep loading accurate loads and keep shooting foxes

Yep if its working for you, then you dont need to fix it. R10x is awesome powder for 20 cals and brings some extra velocity to the equation as well.
