Lapua Brass shortage?

Post by Brad Y »

Just noticed a WTB for lapua 6.5x284 cases on this forum. I ordered some lapua 308 palma the other day in the LGS and was told today it would be 3 months.

Does that mean there is a shortage of lapua brass in general around Aus?

Looks to be a great start to the distribution of lapua by NIOA if so.

Give SARA a go, I usually find that they have what I want at a reasonable price.

This component shortage in OZ is beggining to be a bit of bother.
I leave for an F class shoot in USA in less than a month and will be going through 740 rounds.
The 6.5x284 brass I use is still on order, so I have had to resurrect old brass I had retired a few years ago.
All gunshops within 5-6 hours drive of me in NSW have been out of powders and primers for the last 2 months due to the dangerous goods transport rules.
There are no more 6mm, 6.5mm or 7mm Berger hybrids left in the country, with none expected in until I am in USA.

Ratshot. I have plenty of brass, powder (Australian made) and projectiles waiting for me in USA. Some load development and fireforming at home before I left would have been good though.

Lapua Brass shortage?

Just wait until "friends and comrades" of the shooter from NIOA begin distributing their latest acquisition via your LGS.

Expect to sign a deed relinquishing your organs to them when your dead and that of your first born child too.

Steven, I now have some 6.5 brass on the way to me, should be here Wednesday. I rang the Tamworth gunshop a few weeks back and they didnt have the 2209 or 2213sc I was after, but I did get some 2208 and 2217 from them which I will try loads with.
