Projectile swap meet

Post by trevort »

Sorry if this has been tried before.

Do you ever want to try a projie in your rifle but dont want to have to buy 100 to see if your gun likes them?

Why dont we do a swap meet where we offer a few to those who want them.

Right now I have 9 150gn 30 cal Noslet BTs. My mate gave me to try in my 300 wsm, I wont, it likes the 165gn SSTs

I have 3 150gn Gamekings as well.

I bought some 100gn hornady 7mm hollowpoints to try in my 7-08. Never did, have 10 that i loaded then pulled with the kinetic puller (no damage).

I could spare a dozen or so 40gn 20 cal NBTs or 6mm 65gn Vmax

You get the idea. i would think we dont need to be so mercenary as to only give to people who have something we need. if we are all prepared to give then someone else might have what we need, follow that :?

I would like 9 or a dozen 6mm 70gn Sierra Blitzkings or 22 cal 52gn HPBT Nosler shots

Since we are talking small quantities i think we dont need to talk money for postage and buggerise around with bank accounts.

Mods, if you like the idea you can make it sticky

So if you want some of what I got send me your address and post what you have that someone else might like to try.

20gn VMax
25gn Hollowpoint

.224
50gn VMax

6mm
87gn VMax
87gn Soft Point

Anything different in the above cals would be nice to try. Especially interested in Berger bullets in the .17 as im yet to try them

Con, I liked the cost idea of the Nosler shots. My rifle likes the sierra 50gn BK, I dont think I need to try another of the "quality" projies, but thanks all the same, its what the thread was about!

This is one of the reasons (not all of the reasons) that I like multiple rifles in the same calibre. No matter which powder or bullet you buy the odds are high that it will work in one of the rifles.

Could I put my hand up for a couple of those- I need to make up some dummies in 338 Federal to see how much magazine space I have.

Can I PM you and snail mail addy Steve??

I have a few cartons of part boxes I'll have to look through them and get a list together.

Mostly .224, 6mm and 6.5mm stuff though.

P.S,
I also have a large number of .303/25 cases that are no lomger any use to me, not exactly sure of quantities but there is a mix of fired brass(not sure of how many times), a few that have been necked down and a quantity of NEW norma brass.......

I want to try a light (120gn or thereabouts) proji in 30cal and,
50gnBT's or Blitzkings in .224

Cool idea...I have:

.224
50gr Nosler BTs
55gr VMAX

6mm
58gr VMAX
70gr Sierra HPBT Matchking
70gr Berger MEF (Yet to find stock of these in Oz!)
100gr Partition
107gr Sierra HPBT Matchking (Which are no use to me as my 1:10 won't shoot them properly)

7mm
120gr Nosler BT
139gr SST

Want to try 55gr Nosler .224, 75gr 6mm VMAX, 7mm Interbond in 120-140gr range and any 160gr 7mm just to see if the gun is as accurate with them....
