LGS Rip-offs

Post by bowhunter »

Went to a gun shop in Cessnock today asked for a 500g can of AR2213SC, they wanted $49 for it, and said that the price had just risen. Told them it was too dear.

Rang the lgs in Singleton and asked for a price on the same powder - they said $41. Got them to put aside three cans for me.

Won't be buying any gear from any gunshops in Cessnock again. What a rip off.

cheers bowhunter

It pays to shop around - while it's good to support "the local bloke" nobody likes to feel like they are being ripped off or paying extra for no reason.

I know at my LGS I was quoted a price for a particular rifle I could get not all that far away from here for about $300 less. And you can bet while I'm there I'll buy other stuff too.

the local up here sells powder for 49.95 a tub compared to $40-45 in melbourne. i picked up some for $40 from a mate in melbourne but still paid $49.95 for a tub of 2225 as i didnt want to wait for my mate to order it in.

Yep it does pay to shop around. If you know your prices you may be able to negoiate a more reasonable price.

Also concider the incendetal costs to you if you have to drive elsewhere to buy from another shop such as your time, fuel and vehicle wear and tear.
