we shoot hare out to 150 meters but at that distance some take a few steps..
thats with 40gr cci maxi mag hp
the v max stuff work heaps better on the smaller stuff

thanks mate .
are they shoulder shot ??
do you ever use 40gr power points ? they seem quite cheap do they work well ?
do you prefer the 40gr on foxes ?
at closer ranges do 22 mags mess up fox pelts ?

My Ruger 22 mag loves the CCI 40grn HP, at close range on fox's they can leave an exit wound, was never happy with the Winchester ammo as it never grouped well. Must get the 22 mag out havnt shot it for a while. :D

most of our shooting is done from the Ute door while spotlighting or on the ground with a bi pod.
yes i find the 40 gr carry a bit more punch but the 30gr bullets will still bowl the foxes over no worries.
i have used the Winnie power points before but they were going for more than what i pay for the cci maxi mag.
with the maxi mag 40gr hp my guns will put 5 into about a 20 cent piece at 60 meters. ( naughton fieldman left hand thumb hole )

mmm cool fellas . yeah i'm a fan of the heavier bullets . i went through a phase of faster lighter bullets in all my rifles but am going back to the heavier bullet weights .
well as for the power points they were the only ones under $20 a box at my local .
but i'll pay a little bit more for the maxi mags . are the maxi mags faster ????
