hey guys,
I was wondering if any of you know, is it possible to get lighter loads or reload for a 30-06 any lighter than the
150g Selliers that i currently use.
If theres any chance of reloading lighter to use on 200-250yd foxes and the like?
Understand that the caliber is not really setup for that but trying to get a multi use from what i already have.
Thanks

I have some 125 gn NBTs looaded for my 300wsm, you can get a wide range of light pills, I know there is a 110gn Vmax for instance

A nice load that works for me is this:
Remington Cases
PMC LR primers
125gn Speer TNT
52.3 gn Ar 2206H
MV about 3080fps
Last animal decked was a nice fallow buck at 80 meters - side-on through and through the ribs and he went down quickly. This load shoots to the same POI as my 165gn Sierra load but doesn't beat me up as much.

Your MV seems low with that load, I'm getting 3080fps using Barnes 130gn & 50gn 2206H from a 19' barrel in a steyr scout. If the OP wants a really light proj check out the 110gr V-Max.marcus wrote:A nice load that works for me is this:

That's what chronied when I did the OCW testing. The velocity seemed to top out there in my Sauer whereby increases in charge weight did not give any appreciable increase in velocity. Although I had no pressure signs either going above that charge.
Conversely I get very good velocity out of 165gn Sierras with my charge (1 gn over recommended max but no pressure signs again) of AR 2208.
i settled on faster powders because the muzzle blast I was getting from slower powders was unpleasant.
