Sat down and gave it a thorough clean and is now back to its best with hornady 25gr hp and 21gr of ADI 2206H.

Cleaning process took a while with repeated wet brass brush wet patch and dry patch.
Actually repeated this process about 5 times before I was satisfied.
Wire brush both ways 4 or 5 times before wet patch each time.
Did the trick for me and I am a happy chappy again.
Shep25 -Its got to be one of the most confusing problems I've ever come across . A couple of days ago when the temperature got a little cooler ( bloody lower 30's ) I got a pretty worn nylon brush & covered it with a patch soaked in Sweets. I usually only use sweets when I'm breaking in a new barrel but I gave this Tikka a good go for about 7 strokes , neutralised it with a patch of Shellite & a few more dry ones & went & did a 5 shot group.
Unbelievable , but no more f..ing keyholing. Got me beaten

So , to everyone who has contributed in helping me with a solution here , a big thank you. Still not sure what started the problem , & not completely certain how it was fixed but

Great to see that things worked out well for you also.
I love the caliber and was very disappointed when the trouble started.
Now that it is fixed I'm very happy.
Will make sure that it is cleaned very regularly from now on.

Barry what do you normally get copper out with if you don’t use sweets?
