The price comes down a fair bit if you can buy in the thousands. Time for you guys to get together and order by the pallet....

Constant load development or just plain F!@#$%^ around never allows me the excuse to buy bulk of anything.

Just loaded sum 50gr V-max's to try in the 223. Didn't like the 55gr BT's, just punched straight through bunnies.

Was getting much better results from Sierra 55gr Blitz soft points (not blitzkings), really opened the bunnies up and shot better in my rifle as well.

Will see how the V-Max's go for the 'splat factor', also got sierra 40gr hollow pionts to do a bit more work with (not shooting to well as yet)

used 75 Vmax roo shooting in my 243 wssm last time. A chest shot on an adult sized female produced a very large exit hole with bits of lung scattered round the edges and just mush to be seen in the open cavity. Oh and yes, it was an emphatic humane kill!

Can only give my experience in 30cal while looking for a nice varmint pill for what its worth.
The 30cal 110 Vmax is only good for 3600fps or so (twist rate dependant of course) before it comes apart violently. Cost me an F1 chrony actually!
So far I have driven the 125gr BT at 4100fps without failure. Hopefully when I get my 26 inch barrelled 300rum there'll some a bit more speed yet. The trouble with BT's in 30cal though is that they are all hunting bullets and not varmint bullets. Haven't yet found a suitable 30cal varmint pill that can be driven at 300RUM velocites! A real pisser actually!!!

Does a flat bass bullet hold together any better than a boat tail

Not with V-Maxes! They'll all splatter meat to a fare-thee-well. The plastic-tipped bullets are meant to do that, of course, at least the varmint bullets are. That may very well be the case in game bullets, though.

Nosler 40gr BTs are accurate out of my 223 and quite "dynamic" on bunnies,.... POP!!!

50gn Ballistic Tips firing at 3700 feet per second out of my 22-250 disintegrate any small game that they touch. Recently i hit a rabbit while spotlighting at about 100m with a BT and it blew it into a fence that was almost 2 metres behind the bunny. Needless to say there was not a lot left of the rabbit.
